Getting Started

How do I get started with Kits AI?

Create a Kits AI account, open Studio at app.kits.ai, upload a vocal recording, and select a voice model to convert it. Kits AI requires no installation and no configuration. The free Kits AI plan includes monthly conversion minutes, so new users can test voice conversion before choosing a paid plan.

Do I need audio engineering experience to use Kits AI?

No. Kits AI works for producers, vocalists, engineers, and creators at every skill level. Kits AI handles pre-processing, pitch handling, and rendering automatically, so no mixing knowledge or model-training expertise is needed to get a strong result. Engineers who want more control can still prepare and process audio before uploading to Kits AI.

How long does it take to set up Kits AI?

Under a minute. Kits AI is browser-based, so creating an account is the only setup step. There is nothing to download, install, or configure. New Kits AI users can upload a vocal and hear a converted result within minutes of signing up.

What is the difference between Instant Voice Cloning and Professional Voice Cloning on Kits AI?

Instant Voice Cloning on Kits AI builds a usable voice model from a very short sample and is designed for speed and quick sketches. Professional Voice Cloning on Kits AI trains on a larger dataset, 10 to 30 minutes of clean vocals, and produces the highest-quality, release-ready results, particularly for singing.

Functionality & Technical

Can I use Kits AI outputs in my music productions?

Yes, with conditions. Outputs from the Kits AI royalty-free voice library are cleared for demos, commercial songs, and collaborations, provided you own or have licensed every audio file you upload. The same applies to Kits AI voice cloning: you must hold the rights to any audio used for training and any audio you input. Kits AI does not train its internal models on user input, so your data stays safe on Kits AI.

What audio file formats does Kits AI support?

Kits AI accepts standard audio uploads, including WAV and MP3 files. Kits AI processes uploaded audio in the browser and returns downloadable audio files that import into any DAW. For the best results from Kits AI voice cloning and voice conversion, upload dry, mono recordings with no reverb and no background instrumental.

Does Kits AI support MIDI upload?

No. Kits AI does not support MIDI file uploads. Kits AI works with audio files such as WAV and MP3 vocal recordings, which can be converted, enhanced, or transformed in the browser. To use a MIDI part with Kits AI, export the MIDI track as audio from your DAW first, then upload the audio file.

Can Kits AI generate a full song from a text prompt?

No. Kits AI is built for vocal production rather than full-song generation, so Kits AI does not create complete songs or instrumentals from a text prompt. The Kits AI Lead Vocal Generator, currently in beta, produces lead vocal takes from an instrumental and lyrics you supply. Kits AI voice models provide a diverse, cleared voice library for transforming vocals in commercial work.

What are the system requirements for Kits AI?

Kits AI runs entirely in a web browser, so no installation and no high-end hardware is required. A current browser and a stable internet connection are enough to use Kits AI. Because Kits AI processes audio on its servers, your computer's processor does not limit Kits AI rendering speed.

Why does my Kits AI conversion sound robotic or low quality?

Low-quality Kits AI output usually comes from the source recording rather than the model. Kits AI produces the cleanest results from dry, mono vocals with no reverb, no background instrumental, and no doubled takes. Re-upload an isolated vocal to Kits AI, or separate the vocal first using the Kits AI stem splitter.

How much audio does Professional Voice Cloning need on Kits AI?

Kits AI recommends a 10-minute minimum dataset for Professional Voice Cloning, and 30 minutes or more for the highest-quality clone. Larger, cleaner datasets produce more accurate Kits AI voice models. Record dry, mono vocals across your full range, with no reverb and no background music, before training a Kits AI voice model.

Integrations & Compatibility

Does Kits AI have a VST plugin?

No. Kits AI does not currently offer a native VST or AU plugin, though Kits AI does provide a desktop app integration for working alongside a DAW. Producers can also export finished stems from Kits AI and import the audio files straight into a DAW session.

Does Kits AI work with Ableton, Logic Pro, and FL Studio?

Yes. Kits AI works alongside every major DAW, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, and Pro Tools. Kits AI is not a plugin, so the workflow is to download processed audio from Kits AI and drag the file into a DAW session. No plugin installation and no format conversion is required.

What tools does Kits AI work with?

Kits AI works with any DAW, any operating system, and any browser-based workflow, because Kits AI runs in the browser and exports standard audio files. No plugin and no local install is needed to use Kits AI, so files move straight from Kits AI into an existing production setup.

Does Kits AI work on iPhone, iPad, or Android?

Yes. Kits AI runs in a mobile browser, so Kits AI works on iPhone, iPad, and Android without installing an app. Uploading and converting vocals works on mobile, though most producers use Kits AI in a desktop browser, where file management and DAW export are easier.

Account & Billing

How do I cancel my Kits AI subscription?

You can cancel a Kits AI subscription at any time from your account billing settings, which open the Kits AI billing portal. Canceling a Kits AI plan stops future charges, and access continues through the end of the current billing period. For help with a Kits AI cancellation or refund, contact Kits AI support.

Can I switch Kits AI plans or upgrade mid-cycle?

Yes. You can change Kits AI plans at any time from your billing settings. Upgrading a Kits AI plan takes effect immediately and unlocks that plan's voice slots and download minutes. Downgrading a Kits AI plan takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Does Kits AI offer annual billing?

Yes. Kits AI offers annual plans alongside monthly plans, and annual Kits AI billing costs less per month than monthly billing. An annual Kits AI plan is billed once for twelve months of access. Current Kits AI pricing for monthly and annual plans is listed on the Kits AI pricing page.

What happens when I reach my monthly limit on Kits AI?

When a Kits AI plan reaches its monthly conversion or download limit, Kits AI pauses further processing until the limit resets or the plan is upgraded. Kits AI limits reset monthly, and unused download minutes roll over. Higher Kits AI tiers include unlimited conversion and download minutes, so upgrading removes monthly limits entirely.

Value & Comparison

Are AI vocals legal to use in commercial songs?

Yes, with conditions. AI vocals are legal in commercial songs when the training data and outputs are licensed and the voice is not a real person used without consent. Kits AI voice library models use licensed, consented data, so Kits AI outputs can be released commercially, provided you own or have licensed every audio file uploaded to Kits AI. Streaming services and distributors set their own policies on AI material, so check their current terms as well.

Is Kits AI the best AI singing voice generator?

Kits AI is built specifically for singing rather than speech, which is what separates Kits AI from general text-to-speech tools. Kits AI focuses on high-quality, royalty-free voice conversion for polishing and transforming sung vocals. Tools built for songwriting assistance or spoken narration solve a different problem than Kits AI.

Can I create vocal harmonies without a singer on Kits AI?

Yes. The Kits AI Harmony Generator builds multi-part harmonies and vocal layers from a single recorded take. Producers use Kits AI to stack harmonies in multiple voices without booking session singers or recording repeated passes. Kits AI harmony output exports as standard audio for use in any DAW.

Can Kits AI make an amateur recording sound professional?

Yes, within limits. Kits AI includes vocal repair, pitch correction, and noise removal that noticeably improve rough recordings. Kits AI results still depend on the source: a clean, dry vocal recorded without background noise produces the most polished Kits AI output. Kits AI cannot fully recover heavily clipped or reverb-soaked audio.
